Your day trip from Zagora to the Chegaga dunes begins after picking up your motorcycles and receiving desert driving instructions. Departing early at 8:00 am, you will ride through the charming village of Tamgroute, known for its traditional pottery workshops where artisans create beautiful handmade pieces. From there, the journey continues toward the desert village of M’hamid, passing through scenic desert landscapes and small villages where you can witness the daily life of the Sahrawi people. The ride takes you through a region rich in culture and heritage, allowing you to experience the authentic lifestyle of southern Morocco. As you leave the last inhabited village behind, the vast, golden expanse of the Erg Chegaga dunes gradually comes into view, inviting you to explore the endless sea of sand in this stunning corner of the Sahara.
Upon arrival at Erg Chegaga, you will enjoy a traditional lunch at a desert bivouac surrounded by sweeping dunes. In the afternoon, you can experience a camel ride, following in the footsteps of nomads and immersing yourself in the timeless Sahara way of life. The gentle rhythm of the camels and the vastness of the dunes create an unforgettable adventure, perfect for photography, relaxation, or simply marveling at the desert landscape.
