Your day trip from Ouarzazate to the Zagora desert begins after picking up your motorcycles and receiving your desert driving instructions. Departing early in the morning, you’ll ride through the spectacular Anti-Atlas Mountains, passing through the scenic village of Ait Saoun and ascending Tizi n’Tnifift, which rises to 1,660 meters. The winding mountain roads reveal breathtaking views of rocky landscapes, dramatic valleys, and traditional Berber villages perched along the slopes. After descending from the mountains, you will reach the town of Agdz, where a visit to the historic Kasbah Tamnougalt awaits. This ancient fortress offers a fascinating glimpse into the region’s history, architecture, and the life of local Berber communities. From Agdz, your journey continues along the lush Draa Valley, a vibrant corridor of palm groves and kasbahs, eventually arriving at the sprawling Zagora palm grove, one of the largest in southern Morocco.
At Zagora, you will stop at a traditional desert bivouac for a delicious lunch, surrounded by the serene landscapes of southern Morocco. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to explore the nearby desert villages, interact with the locals, and discover the daily life, culture, and heritage of the Sahrawi people. Riding through sandy trails and quiet desert roads, you will experience the vastness and tranquility of the Zagora Desert, with its endless horizons and golden dunes.
