Detailed Itinerary 8 days from Fez to the desert by motorbike
Day 1 – Arrival in Fez
Upon arrival at Fez-Saïss Airport, you will be welcomed by our team and transferred to your hotel or riad located near the old city. After some time to rest and refresh, you can enjoy a first walk through the atmospheric streets of the Fez Medina, one of the world’s largest living medieval cities, discovering traditional handicraft workshops, spice markets, and historic caravanserais. Dinner at leisure and overnight in Fez.
Day 2 – Fez → Ifrane → Azrou → Midelt → Erfoud → Merzouga
After breakfast, you will meet your guide and collect your motorcycles. A full technical briefing will be provided, including safety instructions and riding advice for Moroccan roads and desert conditions. You will then begin your ride through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through the alpine-style town of Ifrane and continuing to the cedar forests of Azrou, where Barbary macaques live among ancient trees. After a lunch stop in Midelt, the ride continues through the breathtaking Ziz Valley, famous for its palm groves and ksour villages. In Erfoud, you will visit fossil workshops before riding on to Merzouga. Dinner and overnight in a hotel near the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Day 3 – Merzouga → Rissani → Erfoud → Todra Gorges
Wake up with views of the Sahara and, if desired, enjoy a short ride near the dunes of Erg Chebbi to experience the silence and vastness of the desert. After breakfast, you will ride through Rissani, an important former caravan trading center, and continue across desert plateaus towards Tinghir. The road leads to the spectacular Todra Gorges, where towering limestone cliffs rise dramatically on both sides of a crystal-clear river. Enjoy a relaxing walk inside the gorge before dinner and overnight in a hotel.
Day 4 – Todra Gorges → Imilchil → Agoudal → Beni Mellal
This is one of the most scenic riding days of the tour. You will cross remote High Atlas and Middle Atlas mountain routes, passing through Agoudal and reaching the high-altitude lake region of Imilchil, known for its wild landscapes and traditional Berber villages. The road winds through mountain passes, panoramic viewpoints, and dramatic valleys before descending toward the fertile plains of Beni Mellal. Dinner and overnight in a comfortable hotel.
Day 5 – Beni Mellal → Khénifra
After breakfast, the ride continues through the heart of the Middle Atlas, following forested mountain roads and crossing rivers and plateaus. The scenery changes from dramatic cliffs to green valleys and cedar-covered hills. You will reach the lakes and springs region around Khénifra, known for its natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere. Short city exploration, dinner, and overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 6 – Khénifra → Mrirt → Boufakrane → Meknes
Today’s ride takes you north through traditional farming areas and mountain landscapes. Passing through the towns of Mrirt and Boufakrane, you will arrive in Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. In the afternoon, you will visit the monumental Bab Mansour Gate, the ancient Heri es-Souani granaries, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Overnight in a riad or hotel.
Day 7 – Meknes → Volubilis → Moulay Idriss → Chefchaouen → Fez
This final riding day is rich in history and charm. You will first visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with well-preserved mosaics and ancient columns. Then you will ride to the holy town of Moulay Idriss, perched on twin hills. The journey continues through the green Rif Mountains toward the blue city of Chefchaouen, where you can enjoy a relaxing walk through its picturesque streets and squares. In the late afternoon, you return to Fez, drop off the motorcycles, and check into your hotel for the final night.
Day 8 – Departure from Fez
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Fez-Saïss Airport for your departure flight, ending your Moroccan motorcycle adventure.
