Detailed Itinerary 12 days Marrakech Paris Dakar track by motorbike
Day 1 – Arrival in Marrakech
Upon arrival in Marrakech, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Take some time to settle in, relax, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the city. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore the Medina and the famous Jemaa el-Fna square. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 – Marrakech → Aït Ben Haddou
Early breakfast and preparation for the motorcycles. Depart Marrakech heading towards the High Atlas Mountains, crossing winding mountain passes and enjoying panoramic views. Descend into the valley and reach the historic Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Check into your hotel near the kasbah for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3 – Aït Ben Haddou → Agdz → Zagora
Ride through the scenic Draa Valley, lined with palm groves, kasbahs, and ksour. Stop in Agdz to visit the Tamnougalt Kasbah before continuing to Zagora. Admire the vast Zagora palm groves and continue to the Zagora desert. Arrive at your bivouac in the desert for dinner and an overnight stay under the stars.
Day 4 – Zagora → Tafraout Sidi Ali (Paris Dakar Rally Track)
After breakfast at the bivouac, follow a road crossing the Hamada, a black rock desert, and continue along a section of the Paris-Dakar Rally track. Enjoy the desert scenery and meet nomadic shepherds on your way to Tafraout Sidi Ali. Dinner and overnight at a local hotel in the village.
Day 5 – Tafraout Sidi Ali → Ouzina → Ramlia → Taouz → Khamlia
Explore the dunes of Ouzina and Ramlia before heading to Taouz to see ancient rock carvings. Continue to the village of Khamlia, famous for its Gnaoua musicians. Enjoy a traditional Berber pizza lunch while listening to the music. Finally, reach Merzouga for dinner and overnight at a hotel near the dunes.
Day 6 – Merzouga Desert
Spend the day discovering Erg Chebbi dunes. Ride the highest dunes in Morocco on your motorcycle, or take a camel ride to explore the desert landscape. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the Amber Palm Grove and continue to the bivouac in the dunes. Watch the sunset, dine around a campfire, and overnight in nomad tents under the stars.
Day 7 – Merzouga → Rissani → Erfoud → Touroug → Todra Gorges
Wake up early to admire the sunrise over the Sahara. Breakfast at the bivouac, then ride to Rissani and continue to Erfoud, visiting fossil sites along the way. Travel through the oases of Tafilalt, passing Touroug and Tinjdad, to reach the Todra palm grove. Lunch among the palms, then explore the Todra Gorges. Overnight at a hotel in the gorges.
Day 8 – Todra Gorges → Dadès Gorges
Morning exploration of the Todra Gorges followed by a scenic ride to Boumalne via Tinghir. Stop to admire Boumalne Dadès and its panoramic views of the valley. Continue along the Dades Valley to the Dadès Gorges. Dinner and overnight in a hotel surrounded by the dramatic gorge landscapes.
Day 9 – Dadès Gorges → Dades Valley → Skoura → Ouarzazate
Ride along the Dades Valley and visit Kelaa Mgouna, known for its annual Rose Festival. Cross the Valley of Roses to Skoura, visit the palm grove and historic Kasbah Amridil. Continue to Ouarzazate for dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 10 – Ouarzazate → Aït Ben Haddou → Marrakech
Drive through the Ounila Valley to Telouet, crossing the High Atlas Mountains to reach Marrakech in the late afternoon. Drop off your motorcycles and check into your riad in the Medina for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 11 – Marrakech Guided Tour
After breakfast, enjoy a full guided tour of Marrakech’s Medina, visiting historical monuments including Bahia Palace, Badi Palace, Saadian Tombs, Menara, and Majorelle Gardens. Immerse yourself in the city’s culture and history. Dinner and overnight at your riad.
Day 12 – Departure from Marrakech
After breakfast, transfer to Marrakech airport for your departure, concluding your 12-day motorcycle adventure.
